又是一年冬至到。古时在这天有一个很特殊的习俗——献袜履。献履的寓意不仅仅在于温暖长辈的双足。履，足所依也。“千里之行，始于足下。”所以，献履又有“实践、行动”之义。献履也表示发愿循着祖先走过的智慧之路而前行，不履邪径。无论何时，用智慧抉择，不为名利所动，使行为无瑕疵，如是做人方能转祸为福，转迷为悟，拥有幸福的人生。

Here comes the Winter Solstice once again. In ancient times, there was a special custom on this day—giving socks and shoes as gifts. The act of gifting shoes carries a profound significance beyond just warming the feet of our elders. Shoes are what the feet rely upon, and as the saying goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Thus, giving shoes also symbolizes “practice and action” and reflects a commitment to follow the wise footsteps of our ancestors, avoiding any misguided paths. By making choices with wisdom, staying unattached to fame and wealth, and keeping our actions impeccable, we can transform misfortune into blessings, awaken from delusion, and enjoy a life of happiness.

May the Wisdom of Manjushri Bodhisattva shine upon us all! May every day of ours be blessed with Wisdom and Auspiciousness! With Wisdom comes a joyful heart, and a joyful heart keeps us together in every day!
